Wireless what now

Well we've finally got a wireless router in the house and I must admit to a certain amount of frustration

1- Between ordering it, and receiving it (only a couple of days) the shop knocked 5 quid off it

2 - Why is it so fiddly to set up ? (Not a complaint against the kit that works) but blimey does Windows try and be helpful - far too helpful, installing components I'd never even heard of.

3 - Windows networking - Why?

But more interestingly there are two unsecured and by the looks of it unchanged from default wireless networks nearby - hmm.
